Edwin Leemans is the founder of the Rome Statute Research Institute (RSRI), a South African non-profit NGO dedicated to researching and promoting the implementation of the Rome Statute. Through the RSRI, Leemans has focused on documenting cases related to genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, particularly within the South African context.
